F1 News heats up as Red Bull may be considering an extraordinary Max Verstappen offer involving Racing Bulls. After the exit clause money, the rejected six-year deal and now a possible team stake, is Red Bull getting desperate to stop Max leaving? 👉 Subscribe to F1 Grandstand: https://www.youtube.com/@F1Grandstand?sub_confirmation=1 Welcome back to F1 Grandstand with Tony Craig — bringing you the biggest F1 news, Formula 1 updates and F1 Live discussion from inside the paddock. 🚨 TODAY’S F1 NEWS HEADLINES: • Red Bull may offer Max Verstappen a Racing Bulls stake • Verstappen’s Red Bull exit clause still looms • Red Bull already tried an eight-figure clause payout • Verstappen turned down a six-year extension to 2032 • Mercedes have made a 2027 offer for Max • Zak Brown’s A/B team warning creates a major FIA question • Red Bull may be giving Verstappen too much power Red Bull’s Verstappen Panic The Max Verstappen story has taken another wild twist. After reports that Mercedes made an offer for Verstappen to drive for them in 2027, Red Bull have been trying to keep Max inside the Red Bull family. First came the reported eight-figure offer to remove his exit clause. Then came the reported six-year extension until the end of 2032. Now the paddock rumour is that Red Bull may consider offering Verstappen a controlling stake in Racing Bulls. That is not a normal contract negotiation. That is a power play. The Racing Bulls Question Red Bull have owned Racing Bulls since buying Minardi in 2006, but the future of A/B teams in Formula 1 is already under pressure. Zak Brown has repeatedly warned that co-ownership and sister teams create sporting integrity concerns, especially when staff, information and competitive influence can move between linked teams. So if Verstappen drove for Red Bull while holding a major stake in Racing Bulls, would the FIA even allow it? And would Formula 1 accept that kind of conflict? Max’s Exit Clause This all comes back to the same problem. Verstappen has a non-performance exit clause that could become active if Red Bull cannot keep him near the top of the Drivers’ Championship. Mercedes are watching. Red Bull know it. And if Max believes Mercedes, McLaren or another team can offer him a better title-winning future, Red Bull need more than money to convince him. Too Much Driver Power? The bigger question is whether any driver should have this much power. Verstappen is one of the greatest drivers in Formula 1 history, but should Red Bull build their entire future around keeping one man at any cost? Mercedes lost Lewis Hamilton and rebuilt around George Russell and Kimi Antonelli. Could Red Bull survive losing Max? Or has Verstappen become so central to Red Bull that the team now feels trapped?
