Mercedes want their drivers to fight — but not like puppies. They want lions. That is a huge line, because Mercedes are suddenly managing a real title battle between two drivers in the same garage. Antonelli has started the season brilliantly, winning three of the opening four races and building a 20-point lead over Russell. But Russell is not going to sit back and accept being pushed aside. 🔥 MERCEDES FEAR ANOTHER CIVIL WAR Mercedes have already made their instructions clear. Antonelli revealed the team told both drivers they can race each other, but they must do it with respect and avoid anything stupid between team-mates. That matters because Mercedes know exactly how dangerous this can become. They lived through Hamilton vs Rosberg — and they will not want a repeat if both drivers are fighting for a championship. ⚠️ FERRARI ENGINE PROBLEM While Mercedes are managing a title fight, Ferrari are facing a completely different problem. Reports suggest Ferrari are still struggling to master an engine issue many hoped would help bridge a 30hp deficit. That is worrying, because if Ferrari cannot unlock the power unit properly, their 2026 title hopes could start fading before the season even develops. 🚀 FERRARI START ADVANTAGE AT RISK Ferrari may also have to sacrifice their explosive “rocket launcher” starts after spotting a problem in the data. That is a big trade-off. Starts can win positions immediately, but if the data shows a deeper performance or reliability problem, Ferrari may have no choice but to dial it back. And that would remove one of their biggest weapons. 😳 ASTON MARTIN NEWEY TENSION Aston Martin are also under pressure, with reports claiming some staff believe Adrian Newey is avoiding the pressure of being team principal. That is a fascinating political story. Newey is one of the greatest technical minds Formula 1 has ever seen, but being the face of a struggling team is very different from designing winning cars behind the scenes. 🏗️ NEWEY’S AMR26 OVERHAUL DATE Newey has also reportedly set a date for Aston Martin’s complete AMR26 overhaul. That tells you Aston Martin know this car needs more than small fixes. They need a proper reset. With Honda, Newey and huge investment behind the project, expectations are massive — but so is the pressure if the results do not come quickly. This isn’t just F1 news — this is Mercedes managing a title fight, Ferrari fighting technical pain, and Aston Martin already facing pressure around Adrian Newey.
