Mercedes want their drivers to fight — but not like puppies. They want lions. That is a huge line, because Mercedes are suddenly managing a real title battle between two drivers in the same garage. Antonelli has started the season brilliantly, winning three of the opening four races and building a 20-point lead over Russell. Newey is one of the greatest technical minds Formula 1 has ever seen, but being the face of a struggling team is very different from designing winning cars behind the scenes. 🏗️ NEWEY’S AMR26 OVERHAUL DATE Newey has also reportedly set a date for Aston Martin’s complete AMR26 overhaul. That tells you Aston Martin know this car needs more than small fixes. They need a proper reset. With Honda, Newey and huge investment behind the project, expectations are massive — but so is the pressure if the results do not come quickly.
