Friday showed just how close the battle could be. George Russell topped FP1 for Mercedes before Kimi Antonelli set the Friday benchmark in FP2 with a 1:33.662. Charles Leclerc was only 0.113s behind Antonelli and Lewis Hamilton just 0.149s back, putting Ferrari firmly in the fight. One perfect lap could decide everything. 🔴 FERRARI HAVE A REAL SHOT Ferrari finished FP2 second and third, with Leclerc and Hamilton separated by only 0.036s. Leclerc is using an older ADUO1 power unit this weekend while Ferrari carries out further checks on the newer Monza engine. Can Ferrari turn strong Friday pace into pole position? ⚫ ANTONELLI v RUSSELL Antonelli arrives as championship leader and was fastest in FP2, while Russell topped FP1. Mercedes have started the weekend strongly — but which driver delivers when Q3 begins? 🐂 CAN VERSTAPPEN FIND SOMETHING? Max Verstappen was sixth in FP2, 0.401s away from Antonelli, with Red Bull searching for more grip and pace. Qualifying is where Max so often finds another level. Can he do it again at a brand-new circuit? 🟠 McLAREN UNDER PRESSURE Oscar Piastri finished seventh in FP2, while Lando Norris lost almost the entire session to a gearbox problem after completing only two laps. McLaren now need a clean final practice and a big qualifying recovery. 💥 MADRING CAN BITE Arvid Lindblad was fourth fastest in FP2 before crashing at Turn 13 and causing Friday's only red flag.
