The 22-corner circuit mixes public-road and purpose-built sections, with close walls and the banked La Monumental creating a completely new challenge. A Formula 3 test produced 19 red flags across two days, including 11 involving barrier contact. FP2 gives us a clearer picture of how difficult Madring really is once the drivers start pushing. 🔴 CAN FERRARI TURN KNOWLEDGE INTO PACE? Ferrari came into the weekend with more real-world Madring experience than anyone else after Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc completed a 200 km filming day here. Leclerc also avoids an engine-related grid penalty after his Monza crash. FP2 should show whether Ferrari’s car is genuinely well suited to Madrid’s higher-downforce layout. 🟠 McLAREN CHANGE DIRECTION McLaren have parked the rotating H-Wing used at Monza. Madrid demands more downforce, so Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are running the rear-wing specification introduced at Zandvoort instead. FP2 is where we start to see whether McLaren can challenge for pole and victory. ⚫ CAN ANTONELLI STAY ON TOP? Championship leader Kimi Antonelli arrives fresh from winning at Monza and holds a 66-point advantage over George Russell.
